Thanks to a generous sponsor of Gosnells Hawks Football Club and Burley- Sekem, Gosnells Football Club was able to donate $1,500 worth of match day footballs each to the Gosnells Junior Football Club and Huntingdale Junior Football Club.

Burley-Sekem was asked to contribute an auction item for a fund-raising event at a local sporting Club. The item was secured by a Club sponsor, and in consultation with Burley-Sekem, it was agreed that the company would supply footballs for grass roots football.

The footballs were distributed to Kirsty Drew, President of Huntingdale JFC and Michelle Thomasz, President of Gosnells JFC at Gosnells Oval. Michael McCaughan President of the Gosnells Hawks Football Club and Steve Davis Junior Club Liaison Officer and several young players from the Junior Clubs also attended the presentation.

Mr McCaughan said it was really important that support be given to Junior Clubs and thanked Burley-Skem for their generous donation.

Kirsty Drew thanked the Football Club for the footballs and use of the oval for training.

Michelle Thomasz also thanked the sponsors and said her Club would use the footballs for their season matches.

Gosnells Hawks Football Club has appointed former WAFL player and Club Coach Steve Davis as a Liaison Officer between the senior Club and the two Junior Football Clubs.

Steve’s duties are to provide support to the Junior Clubs and to create a pathway to senior football for the youth of the district.
